Porsche To Run Four Works Cars at Le Mans, Again

The Porsche factory effort for the 87th running of the 24 Hours of Le Mans in 2019, will feature four works Porsche 911 RSR cars.

Two of the cars will be fielded by FIA WEC Porsche GT team, along with a pair that will be protagonists in the IMSA Weathertech Championship.

The #91 (WEC) car is going to be driven by Richard Lietz, Frédéric Makowiecki and Gianmaria Bruni, with the #92 (WEC) car driven by reigning champions Michael Christensen, Laurens Vanthoor and Kévin Estre.

Earl Bamber, Patrick Pilet and British driver Nick Tandy will pilot the #93 (IMSA) car, with Sven Müller, Mathieu Jaminet and Dennis Olsen bringing a youthful entry with their #94 (IMSA) machine.

Backing up the factory effort at Le Mans will be a strong contingent of customer teams, racing in the GTE-Am classes. The 2019 24 Hours of Le Mans race will, for the first time, mark the final race of the FIA World Endurance Championship.
