Brabham Automotive has built and delivered its first BT62 Competition model. The car is being delivered to its new owner Horsepower Racing in the UK.
With a limited run of 70 cars, all hand-built to order, the new sports car is likely to become sought after. Customer engagement is fundamental to Brabham’s philosophy. Every part of the build process includes customer input. This level of engagement follows the way Sir Jack Brabham and Ron Tauranac used to operate in the 1960s. At that time, Brabham was the largest manufacturer or track cars in the world.
Brabham has been recruiting top engineers from across the automotive industry. Team members have worked for companies as diverse as Koenigsegg and Tesla.
The BT62 features a 700bhp V8 engine, a 6-speed sequential gearbox and carbon brakes. The FIA compliant chassis, wrapped in carbon-fibre bodywork is lightweight and strong. Another race-ready item, included in the price, is onboard data and telemetry.
The BT62 Competition is set to thrill fans in the hands of owner/driver Paul Bailey and Ross Wylie later this year.
