A Quality Field Set for the 2023/2024 Asian Le Mans Series

The Asian Le Mans Series (ALMS), renowned for its high-octane endurance racing, is set to commence its 2023/2024 season in Southeast Asia with a record 39 cars gracing the grid. This year's series is garnering heightened attention following a record audience for the 2023 season, indicating a growing global interest in this prestigious motorsport event.

The kick-off at the Sepang International Circuit promises an exhilarating experience with 117 drivers from across the globe vying for supremacy. The lineup includes illustrious names such as winners of the 24 Hours of Le Mans, the epitome of endurance racing, alongside stalwarts from the FIA World Endurance Championship. Additionally, the series will feature an array of highly skilled drivers supported by leading GT manufacturers and accomplished amateur drivers, creating a diverse and formidable field.

In the LMP2 class, the 2023 Drivers’ Champions Salih Yoluc and Charlie Eastwood are set to defend their title with TF Sport, while the 2023 Teams’ Champions DKR Engineering will field a strong team including FIA WEC Hypercar driver Tom Dillmann, Laurents Hörr, and Alexander Mattschull. Making his series debut, newly crowned FIA WEC LMP2 champion Louis Deletraz will join 99 Racing, teaming up with Ahmad Al Harty and Nikita Mazepin. The Proton Competition LMP2 team will feature 2022 24 Hours of Le Mans LMP2 Pro-Am winner Rene Binder, along with Julien Andlauer and Giorgio Roda.

In LMP3, the Malaysian team Viper Niza returns, with team owner Douglas Khoo, his regular co-driver Dominic Ang, and Australian driver Josh Burdon. CD Sport, after a successful previous season, is back with Michael Jensen, Nick Adcock, and Fabien Lavergne.

The GT3 class boasts some of the world's best GT drivers, representing eight different manufacturers. This impressive lineup includes names like Fabian Schiller, Marco Mapelli, Davide Rigon, and Rob Bell. Indonesian racer Sean Gelael will compete in the Project 1 BMW M4 GT3, marking his return to the series.

Furthermore, the event will see an influx of talent from the Asia Pacific region, highlighting the series' appeal in the area. Singaporean Danial Frost, Chinese driver Kerong Li, Malaysian racer Adrian D’Silva, and New Zealander Earl Bamber are among the notable Asian talents participating.

The event, held at the Sepang International Circuit, a venue integral to the series' history, offers free entry to the public, including access to the grandstands. This gesture is likely to attract a large number of motorsport enthusiasts, adding to the series' growing popularity.
