The Fanatec GT World Challenge Powered by AWS has finalised its global calendar for the 2024 season, offering an exciting schedule for motorsport enthusiasts. The sixth season of this global customer racing challenge is set to feature sprint and endurance races across 30 events in 13 nations.
The 2024 season will commence with the Fanatec GT Australia contesting the Bathurst 12 Hour from 16-18 February. This globally recognised competition, established in 2019, draws from established continental series in Europe, Asia, America, and Australia. Each series runs independently while contributing towards the Fanatec GT World Challenge Powered by AWS manufacturers' standings.
In Europe, the season will start with a three-hour Endurance Cup round at Circuit Paul Ricard from 5-7 April, followed by Sprint Cup contests at Brands Hatch and Misano. The CrowdStrike 24 Hours of Spa, scheduled for 27-30 June, will mark the centenary edition of the Belgian endurance classic. The European leg will also include events at Hockenheim, the Nürburgring, Magny-Cours, Monza, and Circuit de Barcelona-Catalunya.
A significant highlight for 2024 is the finale at the Jeddah Corniche Circuit in Saudi Arabia from 21–23 November. This six-hour contest at the high-speed Formula 1 venue signifies a new long-term partnership between Saudi Arabia and SRO Motorsports Group.
The American calendar will start on 5-7 April at Sonoma Raceway, including events at Sebring, Circuit of the Americas, Virginia International Raceway, and Road America. The series will return to Barber Motorsports Park for the first time since 2016, concluding with a long-distance race at Indianapolis Motor Speedway.
The Asian series kicks off at the Malaysian venue Sepang on 20/21 April, moving through Thailand, and Japan, concluding at Shanghai International Circuit on 14-15 September. Notably, Fanatec GT Asia will be exclusively for GT3 cars, with GT4 entrants migrating to the Japan Cup.
Australian structural changes include management by SRO Motorsports Australia, led by Ben McMellan, with Charise Bristow as Fanatec GT Australia championship manager and Abi Hay as head of business development and sporting. The Australian series will feature five Sprint Cup events and two Endurance Cup rounds.
