The Porsche Sprint Challenge Indonesia is rapidly carving a niche for itself in the world of motorsport, delivering yet another spectacular weekend of racing in its inaugural season. This second event, a part of the Porsche Motorsport Asia Pacific 2024 calendar, unfolded at the picturesque Pertamina Mandalika International Circuit on Lombok Island, setting the stage for what promises to be a thrilling season finale.

Saturday's 25-minute Sprint Race saw a new victor, Ahmad F Alam of Apriwa Motorsport, clinching his first series win. Alam's victory, a mere five seconds ahead of last week's winner, Rio Saputra Budiharjo from Rizqy Motorsport, has set the scene for an exhilarating showdown, with both drivers now neck-and-neck in the points tally as they gear up for the season's concluding weekend.

Aldio Oekon of Citadel Racing Team continued his consistent performance with a third consecutive podium finish. Meanwhile, Merah Putih Racing's Hendrik Jaya Soewatdy and Luckas Dwinada claimed victories in the Am and Pro-Am categories, respectively, showcasing the depth of talent across the field.

The Endurance Race on Sunday was a testament to Oekon's prowess as he expertly navigated his strikingly liveried #15 Porsche 911 GT3 Cup (992) to victory. Soewatdy and teammate John Kwon escalated their game to clinch second place and the Am victory. Apriwa Motorsport's Alam and Rudi SL trailed closely in third, with Dwinada securing another Pro-Am victory in car #83.

As the debut season of the Porsche Sprint Challenge Indonesia inches closer to its conclusion, anticipation builds for the final event scheduled for January 26-28. This inaugural season has showcased the drivers' capabilities and the potential of this series to become a significant fixture in Asian motorsport.

Bagoes Hermanto, CEO of Superstars Motorsport, expressed his satisfaction with the event, noting the intense on-track action and the drivers' growing understanding of the series. Alexandre Gibot, Managing Director of Porsche Motorsport Asia Pacific Ltd., commended the professionalism and high standards of the series, acknowledging the impressive grid of Porsche 911 GT3 Cup cars and the spirited competition they brought to the Mandalika Circuit.

As the Porsche Sprint Challenge Indonesia gears up for its grand finale, the motorsport community eagerly awaits to crown its first champions in an exceptional debut season.
