Porsche Motorsport, the Stuttgart-based sports car icon, has announced a sweeping and ambitious agenda for the 2024 motorsport season, underpinning its commitment to excellence in both factory and customer racing. The announcement, made at the prestigious annual “Night of Champions” gala held at the Weissach development centre, revealed Porsche's high aspirations for the coming year.

At the heart of the programme is Porsche's continued participation in the world’s largest endurance championships, notably the FIA World Endurance Championship (WEC) and the IMSA WeatherTech SportsCar Championship. The factory team will be competing with the Porsche 963, a vehicle that encapsulates the brand's pioneering spirit and innovative prowess. The FIA WEC and IMSA series are set to be fiercely contested, with Porsche aiming to secure leading positions and claim victories.

Significant changes in the driver lineup were also announced for the 2024 season. Notably, American Dane Cameron and Australian Matt Campbell will switch cockpits in the Porsche 963 teams competing in the WEC and IMSA series. This strategic move is part of Porsche's larger aim to optimise its overall package for contesting these major championships.

Porsche's commitment to motorsport extends beyond the racetrack to the virtual world, where the Porsche Coanda Esports Racing Team will continue its participation in top-tier sim racing competitions, including the ESL R1 series and the Le Mans Virtual Series. The esports team, featuring prominent drivers like Joshua Rogers and Dayne Warren, demonstrates Porsche's embrace of modern motorsport dimensions.

In 2024, Porsche partner teams will compete in various GT series globally, including the FIA WEC, IMSA WeatherTech SportsCar Championship, and the Intercontinental GT Challenge. A notable achievement celebrated at the event was the awarding of the Porsche Cup to Nicolas Leutwiler, recognised as the most successful private driver of the 2023 season. Additionally, the 21-year-old Frenchman Alessandro Ghiretti was announced as the new Porsche Junior, underscoring Porsche's dedication to nurturing young talent in motorsport.
