Porsche Sprint Challenge Indonesia: 2024 Season

High-Octane Action Returns to Mandalika Circuit

Porsche Sprint Challenge Indonesia: 2024 Season

Porsche Motorsport Asia Pacific is poised to inaugurate its 2024 season with Rounds 3 and 4 of the Porsche Sprint Challenge Indonesia at the Pertamina Mandalika International Circuit. Following a rousing debut in December, the circuit will once again host a fleet of Porsche 911 GT3 Cup (992) vehicles.

The series' initial foray was marked by a triumphant performance from Rizqy Motorsport, clinching victories in both Sprint and Endurance races. Rio Saputra Budiharjo etched his name in the annals as the first race winner, while teammates Daffa Ardiansyah Budiharjo and Dikco Prasetyo Wahyu Utom sealed a flawless weekend with their Endurance Race win.

In the upcoming rounds, Rizqy Motorsport aims to extend its winning streak amidst fierce rivalry, particularly from Jakarta Ban Motorsport’s Ahmad Fadillah Alam and Ahmad Aldio Oekon of Citadel Racing Team. The latter duo, coming off podium finishes in the prior round, are eager to claim the Sprint victory.

The Endurance Race will see Oekon striving to maintain his podium consistency, while Am class victors from December, Hendrik Jaya Soewatdy and John Kwon, are set for another impressive showing in their Semen Merah Putih Porsche 911 GT3 Cup (992).

The Pro-Am and Am categories are anticipated to be battlegrounds of intense rivalry. Luckas Dwinada, alongside Alam and Setia Laksana of Jakarta Ban Motorsport, emerged victorious in previous rounds, while Ruffino triumphed in the Am class.

Pertamina Mandalika International Circuit, a 4.313-kilometre track located on Lombok's scenic coast, boasts a challenging layout with rapid turns and crucial braking zones, especially through Turns 15 and 16. The long pit straight towards Turn 1 presents a prime overtaking opportunity.

The eagerly awaited event is scheduled for 12-14 January, featuring the Sprint Race on Saturday and the Endurance Race on Sunday. Fans can witness the thrilling action live on the Porsche Sprint Challenge Indonesia YouTube channel, with Rounds 5 and 6 set for 26-28 January.

Alexandre Gibot, Managing Director at Porsche Motorsport Asia Pacific Ltd., expressed his excitement for the season's commencement and his confidence in the driver’s ability to deliver spectacular racing. Bagoes Hermanto, CEO of Superstars Motorsport, echoed this sentiment, anticipating evolved strategies from the teams and a captivating performance from the drivers, now more familiar with the track.
